The Non-Negotiables of over 50 health.

These are the essentials to maintaining good health. I suggest starting slowly with all of them and work your way up. Progress is the most important thing. Small steps add up and you will see changes.

  • The number 1 most important thing. Sleep! Our days of staying up late and getting up early to get to work are over. Plan for a minimum of 8 hours. Set a routine bedtime and stick to it. Your body needs the recovery time to heal and grow, especially if you are working out daily.
  • Water. Stay hydrated your body needs it to function properly from your kidneys to your muscles. I drink about 24 ounces per meal. Find a nice water bottle that will help keep the water cool. See link for my recommendations.
  • Protein. I get a minimum of 100 grams per day. Half your body weight in grams is even better.  I use many different sources from lean meats, plant based, and supplements. A good mix is essential. Find a good protein supplement see my products for some great recommendations.
  • Weight Training. There is no better way to build and maintain muscle. Muscle helps the metabolism keep moving even when you are not. Find a local gym or put one together at home. You don't need expensive equipment. Find a good body weight routine online.
  • Stretching. I used to be able to work out and never stretch. This is the path to injury for us over 50 folks. The internet is loaded with stretching programs. Find one that works for you.
